Bluecurrent to expand service offering through acquisition agreement

Australasian smart metering and data services company Bluecurrent has entered into an agreement to acquire Metropolis Metering, an Australian provider of smart metering solutions to the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) and Embedded Network (EN) markets.
Bluecurrent CEO Neil Williams said the proposed acquisition delivers an expanded suite of services for our customers.
Metropolis Metering grows Bluecurrent's presence in the C&I and EN markets in Australia, as part of our drive towards a smarter and more sustainable future. Our new, combined business will continue to deliver Bluecurrent's market-leading work, supported by Metropolis Metering's agile, innovative practices.
Delivering for our customers is at the heart of our values and we will maintain our focus on making our customers growth aspirations possible. Our customers can expect the same high standards, with an expanded service offering from the combination of the two organisations.
Metropolis Metering CEO Andrew Randall said he was excited about the opportunities that Bluecurrent would bring to the Metropolis Metering business, with its scale and strong customer relationships across Australia and New Zealand.
From the outset we have had strong values alignment with the Bluecurrent team, focused on sustainable growth and playing a pivotal role in the transition to carbon-zero, ensuring a smarter future for all. I'm looking forward to seeing how our operations continue to thrive as part of Bluecurrent.
The agreement is subject to conditions, with completion of the acquisition expected in early December 2024.
